From June 8 to 11, 2027, the 10th International Conference “Design, Simulation, Manufacturing: The Innovation Exchange” (DSMIE-2027) will take place in Vienna, Austria. The conference will bring together researchers, engineers, industry representatives, educators, and young professionals from around the world to exchange research findings, present innovative developments, and foster international cooperation.
The conference is organized by IATDI and FH Campus Wien – University of Applied Sciences.
Conference Topics
One of the key areas of DSMIE-2027 is Materials Engineering, covering a wide range of current topics in modern materials science, including:
- Advanced materials for industrial applications;
- Additive manufacturing technologies and processes;
- Materials processing, forming, and manufacturing;
- Development of advanced and functional materials;
- Composite, hybrid, and multi-material systems;
- Lightweight and high-performance materials;
- Surface engineering, coatings, and microstructures;
- Materials simulation, digitalization, and circularity.
The conference also covers manufacturing engineering, digital twins, artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, Industry 4.0/5.0, mechanical engineering, industrial management, and emerging technologies.
Important Dates
November 30, 2026 — Full paper submission deadline.
January 15, 2027 — Acceptance notification.
February 28, 2027 — Camera-ready paper submission and registration.
June 8–11, 2027 — Conference dates in Vienna.
The conference accepts English-language manuscripts of 10–12 pages, formatted according to the Springer LNME template. Each paper may have up to 5 co-authors. Submissions are made via the EasyChair platform.
Publication and Indexing
The conference proceedings are planned to be published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering (LNME) series. According to the conference call for papers, the proceedings are indexed in Scopus, EI Compendex, and the Web of Science Core Collection. Extended versions of selected papers may also be considered for publication in partner journals.
An important part of DSMIE-2027 will be the special “Business to Science” session, which provides an opportunity for direct interaction between industry representatives and the academic community to discuss real-world industrial challenges and explore innovative solutions.
