On October 29, students from the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy-Efficient Technologies participated in a large-scale industry-specific Career Day in Engineering, held online.
The event was attended by representatives from manufacturing enterprises based in the city of Sumy, the Sumy region, and neighboring regions. Representing the Sumy region were: Anatolii Samoilenko, Deputy Director for Human Resources at "Zavod Kobzarenka" LLC (Lypova Dolyna village)—a leader in the production of agricultural machinery in Ukraine; Oleksandr Stepanenko, Director of "Foltsukrein" LLC (Sumy)—a leading manufacturer of hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; and Serhii Danko, First Deputy Director of "Talan Group" LLC (Romny)—a leader in Ukraine’s light industry. The Kharkiv region was represented by Viktor Skrypnikov, head of "Hydro Hid" LLC (Kharkiv). The Kyiv region was represented by Mykyta Shkatiuk, a lead engineer at "Ukrvent" LLC (Kyiv), a manufacturer of high-quality fire-safety and general industrial ventilation equipment.
This event served as an excellent platform for direct dialogue between future professionals and leading employers in the engineering sector. During the meeting, our students had the opportunity to:
- Learn about current trends and demands in the labor market
- Explore available engineering job openings
- Gain a clear understanding of what employers expect from young candidates
- Find out about working conditions, internship opportunities, and benefits
- Identify realistic prospects for professional and career development
Direct interaction with employers is the best way for students to understand which skills are most valuable today and to confidently plan their professional start while still pursuing their studies!
We thank the organizers and employers for this productive meeting and for the practical advice provided to future engineers!
